Description of desired drum:
( 1) The drum diameter is 9 ft. 6 inches or 9.5 ft diameter X 14 feet long for purification service
( 2) The manufacturer of the drum is Sandy Hill.
(3) The surface of the` drum has a perforated metal carbon steel deck capable of supporting a press roll.
(4) The filtrate drainage system under the perforated metal deck consists of the following:
(A) “U” shaped channels convey the filtrate from both ends of the drum to catch buckets located in a circle at the center of the drum.
(B) From each catch bucket there is a pipe that conveys the filtrate to a circular vacuum valve cavity located on the non drive end of
The drum.
(C) In side the circular vacuum valve cavity there is a fabricated valve that shuts off the vacuum to the discharge side of the drum.
(D) As the filtrate flows out of the end vacuum valve cavity there is a connection to connect a pipe line to the suction of a mechanical
Vacuum pump to provide vacuum assist to the washer.
(E) The filtrate then flows into a fabricated chamber mounted on the top a drop leg.
